Who Books the Coach and Who Runs It
We are a booking service for group travel in France. We find a licensed partner operator with the right coach free on your date, and that operator runs the trip with its own driver.
Our job and the operator's job
Our part: take your request, put it to a partner operator, send you the quote, confirm the booking and pass on any change. We stay your contact from the first message to the drive home.
The operator's part: supply and maintain the vehicle, employ the driver, insure the trip, plan the driving within the legal hours and keep the tachograph records. On the road, the driver answers to the operator on safety, route and breaks.
What a partner operator must hold
A company that carries passengers by road for hire must first be entered in the register of road passenger transport companies, kept by the regional DREAL. Entry needs four things: good repute, financial standing, professional competence and a real establishment. Companies running coaches hold a licence communautaire, valid for national and international work.
Drivers need the right licence. Category D covers vehicles with more than 9 seats including the driver. D1 covers minibuses up to 17 seats and 8 m long. A car with driver runs as a VTC: the driver holds a carte professionnelle VTC, and the operator sits in the national VTC register.
Who books through us
Mostly people who move a whole group at once. School heads and trip leaders. Club secretaries taking a team to a match. Works council (CSE) organisers planning a staff outing. Associations and tour leaders running a programme over several days.
What we leave out
No vehicle is ours and no driver is on our payroll. There is no rate card, because each trip is priced for its own date, hours, distance and vehicle. We do not sell seats on scheduled coaches or tours. Your group has the coach to itself.
Where the planning notes come from
The coach rules on these pages come from public sources: French government guidance, Légifrance, the Ville de Paris, city and métropole sites, airport and port operators, and event organisers. Distances and drive times are approximate car times in light traffic. A coach is slower.
Low-emission zones are the part that moves. They stay in force after the Conseil constitutionnel ruling of 21 May 2026, but Parliament is debating them again.
Organisers ask
Do you run coaches yourselves?
No. A partner operator supplies the coach and employs the driver. We arrange the booking and deal with changes.
Can I see a price before I ask?
No. A figure exists only once an operator has costed your date, hours and distance. Asking for a quote commits you to nothing.
Can a trip start outside the twenty cities?
Yes. The city pages are planning notes, not limits. Send the pickup address and the trip goes to partner operators.
Describe your trip
A headcount, a date and a list of places is enough to start. Once an operator has costed the trip, you decide whether to accept.
