Bordeaux-Mérignac coach transfers: agreeing the meeting point

Bordeaux-Mérignac has no published coach bay or coach park. Groups meet at the terminal exit and walk to the vehicle. Fix that meeting point before the day.

No coach bay: what that means

The airport does not publish a coach pick-up point or waiting rules. The usual pattern: the group comes out of the terminal and walks to the vehicle in a car park or drop-off area. Confirm the exact spot with the operator, who checks it with the airport when booking.

Height limits rule out the obvious places. The P Express car park opposite Halls A, B and billi takes vehicles up to 3.00 m, too low for a full-size coach. The dépose-minute on the departures level has the same limit. A minibus may fit where a coach cannot, so the group size matters.

Night flights

All three terminals close to the public from midnight to 03:00. A very late landing or an early departure needs a plan for where the group waits.

Where the coach collects the group

  • The airport does not publish a coach pick-up point or a VTC area. Groups are usually met at the terminal exits and walk to the vehicle in the car parks or drop-off areas; check the meeting point with the airport when booking.

Coach parking and access

  • The airport does not publish a coach park or coach waiting rules. The P Express car park, outdoors opposite Halls A, B and billi, is used for picking up and dropping off: the first 10 minutes are free, then charges apply; it is limited to 3 visits in 24 hours and to vehicles up to 3.00 m high, and opens from the first to the last flight.

Road to the city centre

  • about 15 km by road to Place de la Comédie, about 30 min in light traffic; longer at peak times

From the airport into Bordeaux

Place de la Comédie is about 15 km by road, about 30 minutes with light traffic and longer in the rush. The rocade is free. The Bordeaux low-emission zone covers everything inside it, day and night, but bars only unclassified vehicles: for coaches, those registered before 1 October 2001. A Crit'Air check still belongs in the booking, as the rules can change.

In the centre, coach parking is limited to the MetPark coach park at Quinconces, with 12 spaces. Drivers may not park at drop-off points. Official set-down points include 8 allées de Tourny for the Grand Théâtre, and rue Terres de Borde on the Belcier side of Gare Saint-Jean.

Vineyard groups

Many groups go straight to the vineyards. Saint-Émilion is about 45 minutes from Bordeaux by road and has two coach parks. Parking Villemaurine, near place Bourgeoise, has 18 spaces and a 10-hour limit.

Organisers ask

Where exactly will the driver meet us?

At a point agreed in advance, usually at the terminal exit, with a short walk to the vehicle. Settle the driver's position with the operator ahead of the day.

Is the tram a good option?

Tram line F has served the airport since December 2025, about 45 minutes to Gare Saint-Jean. The 30'DIRECT shuttle takes about 30 minutes. With bags and a group, a coach to the door is simpler.

Can a full-size coach use the drop-off zone?

No. The drop-off zones and P Express have a 3.00 m height limit, below a coach's height.
