Nantes Atlantique coach transfers: the professional ring road
At Nantes Atlantique, coaches, shuttles and taxis share a professional ring road next to the terminal. There is no fixed coach bay, so the stop must be short and planned.
The anneau professionnel
Authorised transport professionals use the 'anneau professionnel', a ring road right beside the terminal. Entry is by number-plate recognition only. The operator applies online for an authorisation valid one year, with its company registration, transport licence and insurance.
Time on the ring road must be kept to what the job strictly needs, and coaches pay their own rate. No coach waiting area is published. The driver comes in when the group is ready, not before.

Event and congress groups
For an event needing coach parking at the airport, the request goes to the airport in writing. Give us the dates and the number of coaches early so the operator can send it in good time.
Where the coach collects the group
- Coaches, VTC, shuttles and taxis use the 'anneau professionnel', a ring road right next to the terminal reserved for authorised transport professionals. Entry is by number-plate recognition only, with an authorisation applied for online and valid for one year (company registration, transport licence, taxi or VTC professional card and insurance are required). The airport does not publish a specific coach or VTC bay.
Coach parking and access
- Access to the professional ring road must be kept to the time strictly needed for the job; annual or per-visit charges apply, with a separate rate for coaches. Parking for events can be arranged with the airport on written request. No coach waiting area is published.
Road to the city centre
- about 13 km by road to the Château des ducs de Bretagne, about 20 min in light traffic; longer at peak times
Into Nantes
The Château des ducs de Bretagne is about 13 km by road, around 20 minutes in light traffic. Nantes has a low-emission zone inside the périphérique, but it applies only at weekday peaks, 07:00 to 09:00 and 16:00 to 19:00, outside public holidays. At those times unclassified vehicles are banned, including heavy vehicles first registered before 1 October 2001, and a Crit'Air sticker is required. Check the current rules with the booking, as they change.
For the Château, coaches set down in rue Henri IV, on a delivery bay where drop-off is allowed, with a 30-minute limit. Place du Maréchal-Foch serves the cathedral but is difficult during the April and September fairs.
Where the coach parks
The Gare Sud coach station, on the south side of the railway station, takes tourist coaches for paid parking booked at least 72 hours ahead. On the Île de Nantes, near the Hangar à Bananes, 13 free spaces have no time limit.
Further afield
The Puy du Fou is about 1 h 10 from Nantes, and Mont-Saint-Michel's coach park about 2 h 25. The A11 towards Angers and Paris is a toll motorway.
