Cruise Coaches from the Cannes Vieux-Port
Cannes is a tender port: ships anchor offshore and passengers are ferried in to the Vieux-Port's gare maritime, on the Promenade de la Pantiero next to the Palais des Festivals. The town also sets some of the tightest coach rules on the coast.
A capped number of passengers
The city has limited cruise traffic since 2026. No more than 6,000 passengers may land in a day, and the bay takes one large ship a day at most. Ships with over 3,000 passengers are allowed 34 calls in 2026 and 31 in 2027.
Confirm the call date with the cruise line before you book the coach. The landing point is in the centre, a short walk from La Croisette and Le Suquet.

Coach rules inside the commune
Under a municipal order, no tourist coach of Euro IV or an older standard may enter Cannes at all. Ask for the coach's Euro standard when you book.
Coaches arrive from the A8 at exit 41, Cannes-La Bocca, or exit 42, Mougins, and follow the city's coach route map. They may not drive on La Croisette or the other seafront roads, except for an authorised set-down or pick-up. When stopped, the engine is switched off. Bus lanes are closed to them.
The Laubeuf coach park on Quai Laubeuf, near the Palais and the Lérins boats, is closed for renovation. The driver confirms where the coach waits.
From the ship to the coach
- Since 2026 the city of Cannes caps cruise arrivals at 6,000 passengers a day, with at most one large ship a day in the bay.
- Calls by ships carrying more than 3,000 passengers are limited to 34 in 2026 and 31 in 2027; from 2030 the city aims to receive only ships of up to 1,300 passengers.
- The gare maritime is in the city centre, a short walk from the Palais des Festivals, La Croisette and the old town (Le Suquet).
Airports for this port
- Aéroport Nice Côte d'Azur (NCE) — about 29 km, about 35-40 min in light traffic
Shore days from Cannes
Shore trips stay short. Mougins is roughly 8 km off and Antibes 11 km. Grasse, at around 20 km, takes about half an hour, and Saint-Paul-de-Vence is some 28 km.
The Îles de Lérins boats sail from Quai Laubeuf, close to where the tenders land, so that part of the day needs no coach.
Organisers ask
Is there a ZFE in Cannes?
Not as of October 2026: the Nice zone stops short of Cannes, and the town has not created one. What matters for coaches is the Euro IV ban. Recheck the rules before the call.
Can the coach wait on La Croisette?
No. Coaches may only set down or pick up there with authorisation. Agree the waiting place with the driver in advance.
How far is Nice airport from the port?
Nice Côte d'Azur is roughly 29 km away by road, 35 to 40 minutes in light traffic. The A8 between Cannes and Nice is tolled at the Antibes barrier.
Is there a case for a smaller vehicle?
Sometimes. Coaches cannot use the Croix des Gardes roads; a vehicle with 20 seats or fewer, such as a minibus, can.
